"Dream". 2015.

I had a good fortune of shooting one of my friends with her lovely horse - "Dream" - at one of the farms in New Jersey. It was one cold freezing morning, and she rode her inside a huge wooden barn. One could easily smell the musty wood mixed with, of course, all things horse-related :-) A little shy initially, Dream soon took to her new friend with the camera, and posed quite well!

We first watched a more experienced rider striding his horse, and almost sort of taking a pulse. I soon realized this is a two-way learning: as much as a rider learns about a horse, its style, its temperament, its comfort level in taking directions, the horse too learns the way the rider guides it, while also forming a close bond with the rider.

Horse riding goes way back starting around 3500 BC (Source) and is simply magnificent even to watch! I can only imagine what it is to stride atop this majestic and graceful beast. For now,  shooting through my lens is what I came closest.
